The SRE team took a look at answering a very simple, yet important question – If a consumer could be the utility or a utility regulator for a day, what would be the most cost effective method of spending everyone’s hard earned money to generate 1 megawatt of electric power? The answer we calculated may surprise you. The RE³ solution of energy efficiency and renewable energy is the cheapest way to add that megawatt. It’s actually much cheaper than natural gas, nuclear power generation and coal! This information tells us that there is a lot of misinformation out there on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
